Why This Must Be Read: Holiday left me with a burning need to have Fred and Daniel meet, and Amanda Bankier has created that very concept! In another sort of holiday, "Giving Thanks" shows Fred recognizing Daniel on Thanksgiving. The pair talk.

Author's Summary:

An alternate universe where Jim and Blair meet shortly after Jim gets back from Peru and Blair gets back from an SG mission.

Why This Must Be Read:

A fun set of stories that are more Sentinel than SG-1, but a very different first meeting for Jim and Blair, aided by Jack and Daniel. Told in alternating, first person POV, it shows Jim and Blair's experiences before and after they meet, aided by the SGC.

There are four stories in the series; the first two include the SGC but the last two are pure Sentinel fic. But they are relatively short and a good story!

Just popping in to mention that the latest Rivers of London entry, Stone & Sky, features our talented young apprentice Abigail as a co-narrator, and she meets a very intriguing huntress while she's tagged along on a Scottish investigation. It's a very "ah, youth" kind of summer romance for sure, but I enjoyed Abigail's POV on it a great deal, not to mention the particular ways that it was tinged by their involvements in the demimonde!

Why This Must Be Read: An episode tag to 'Broken Ties', the story explores Ronon's reaction to having temporarily abandoned Atlantis and become a slave to the Wraith after going to join Tyre and his old team. It's very much hurt comfort, showing him grappling with what happened and feeling broken, and how his relationships with, in particular, Rodney, and John, help him through this. Rodney's his lover in this but without it being particularly romantic, and, at the end, it's left unclear what his relationship with John is, but to me it reads as comfort, and a healing of their friendship. It's beautifully written, with pain but also redemption, and gives us the feels that canon glossed over. Powerful.
